 re Association (AWWA) as part of their series\, 'No One Should Age Alone.'
  \n\nThe U.S. Surgeon General issued an advisory on the epidemic of loneli
 ness and social isolation\, reporting that social connection is as critica
 l to our health and well-being as food\, water\, and shelter. Over one-thi
 rd of older adults in Boston live alone or are separated from their famili
 es\, leading to feelings of loneliness and social isolation.\n\nAttendees 
 of 'Connection is Vital to Healthy Aging' will learn how FriendshipWorks i
 s working to address this issue through our Friendly Visiting program that
  brings older adults and volunteers together for friendship\, assistance\,
  and emotional support. The program is available at no cost to adults ages
  60 and older (55+ for those with vision or hearing loss).\n\nThanks to th
 e AWWA for supporting FriendshipWorks in bringing the Friendly Visiting pr
