Boston, May 1, 2025 – FriendshipWorks, a leading nonprofit that works to reduce social isolation, enhance the quality of life, and preserve the dignity of older adults in Greater Boston, is pleased to announce that the FriendshipWorks Board of Directors has appointed Kyle Robidoux as our new Executive Director, effective May 1.
Kyle is a respected nonprofit leader with a strong commitment to equity and a genuine passion for serving older adults. Key to Kyle’s selection were his long-standing involvement with FriendshipWorks, his years of leadership experience — most recently as Assistant Director in the Office of Housing Stability at the Mayor's Office of Housing — and his proven track record in community organizing, civic engagement, strategic planning, program development, and fundraising.
As former FriendshipWorks Board President, Kyle has a deep understanding of our organization’s culture and mission. His collaborative leadership style, thoughtful approach, and longstanding dedication to social change make him uniquely equipped to lead FriendshipWorks into this next chapter.
About The Search
The Board Selection Committee began an extensive and inclusive search process in September 2024 in partnership with Third Sector New England (TSNE), reviewing more than 150 applications from a diverse and accomplished pool of candidates. To ensure a thoughtful and inclusive approach, we gathered input from FriendshipWorks leadership, staff, and key external stakeholders through a combination of one-on-one interviews,
focus groups, and online surveys. These valuable insights were instrumental in defining the leadership qualities, skills, and experience needed to guide FriendshipWorks into the future. In Kyle, we found a leader who reflects our values and brings both the experience and heart to continue strengthening FriendshipWorks’ impact.
"As we say a heartfelt thank you to Janet Seckel-Cerrotti for her decades of visionary leadership, we are confident that Kyle’s appointment represents a smooth and meaningful transition rooted in continuity, shared purpose, and a deep commitment to ending elder isolation," says Susan Foster, FriendshipWorks' Board President. "Having personally worked closely with Kyle during his time on the Board — including his tenure as Board President — I have witnessed firsthand his dedication, thoughtful leadership, and unwavering commitment to our mission. Kyle’s heart for service extends far beyond the office. In fact, he runs the Boston Marathon, a testament to his determination, strength, and drive — qualities he brings to everything he does."
You can connect with Kyle in person at the upcoming FriendshipWorks' Elderbration and Walk to End Elder Isolation on May 18, 2025, on LinkedIn, or by email krobidoux@fw4elders.org.
