Kyle Robidoux

Creating a More Connected, Inclusive Greater Boston

Kyle Robidoux is the Executive Director of FriendshipWorks, where he leads with authenticity, resilience, and a lifelong commitment to inclusion and connection. Dedicated to ending social isolation among older adults, Kyle first connected with FriendshipWorks in 2017 when he joined its Far-Sighted Committee – an initiative launched to better assist older adults with vision loss. He later served on an event planning committee and joined the Board of Directors, becoming its President in 2020. In May 2025, Kyle was selected by the Board to serve as Executive Director.

FriendshipWorks’ mission resonates deeply with Kyle. “My Grammy lived to be 102 years old, and she spent her last four years rather isolated in an assisted living facility,” he recalls. “I frequently wished that she lived in Boston or had a program near her, similar to FriendshipWorks. The strong sense of community FriendshipWorks creates is a true testament to the impact of its programs.”

Diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease at age 11 and declared legally blind at 19, Kyle has spent his career breaking down barriers and redefining what’s possible. As a person living with  vision loss, he understands how disability can increase the risk of isolation – and the action steps needed to prevent it.

Before joining FriendshipWorks as Executive Director, Kyle built a distinguished career in community development and civic engagement. He served as Assistant Director with the City of Boston’s Office of Housing Stability in Mayor Wu’s Office of Housing, where he oversaw rental assistance programs, eviction prevention strategies, and policy development to ensure residents have access to safe and stable housing. A respected nonprofit leader, he brings decades of experience in community organizing, strategic planning, and partnership building.

Kyle is also a sought-after public speaker and group facilitator, known for his engaging presentations in classrooms, conferences, and interactive Q&A sessions. Beyond his professional work, he is an accomplished athlete – having completed 11 Boston Marathons and six 100-mile races – and a passionate skier and advocate for inclusive outdoor recreation. Kyle lives in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston with his wife, daughter, and cat Cuddles.

Under his leadership, FriendshipWorks continues to grow as a community that values connection, compassion, and the belief that friendship has the power to change lives.
