EXCITING NEWS! By Doubling Your Impact, you helped us reach our goal!
We’re so grateful to everyone who took the time to celebrate Giving Tuesday with FriendshipWorks. Out of the thousands of charitable organizations you could support on this global day of giving, we are incredibly grateful that you chose to support ours. With gifts ranging from $10 to $10,000, doubled by a generous match of $25,000 from The Ferrrara Foundation, we raised a whopping $50,588 surpassing our fundraising goal of $50,000!
Why FriendshipWorks? Why now?
On May 2, 2023, our Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued an Advisory on the Epidemic of Loneliness and Social Isolation, and reported that social connection is a fundamental human need – as essential to survival as food, water and shelter.
The good news is that social isolation is solvable and treatable, and your DOUBLED DONATION will go a long way to bring comfort, hope, and a healthier community for older adults in Greater Boston for generations to come.
While this is an impressive accomplishment and we’ve made serious progress, we’re not done yet! We will need your continued support to help us reach our year end fundraising goal of $250,000 before December 31.
